Hailing from Quebec, fellow Canadian Guy Laramee is a man with many talents. Not only is he a very accomplished painter and sculptor, but Guy is also a highly regarded musician, composer and stage director.
With more than 30 years of practice, Guy’s work has been seen and heard in galleries and theaters around the world. And when he’s not involved in his artistic pursuits, he finds time to pursue an investigation in the field of anthropology.
Below you will find a collection of his incredible book carving work from his series’ titled The Great Wall and Biblios. In these series, Guy carves magnificent landscapes into relevant volumes of work, some pieces using well over ten books. Enjoy!

If the world keeps churning

Tran Nguyen was born in 1987 in Vietnam, and raised in Augusta, Georgia where she attended the Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2009 Tran received a BFA in Illustration from the University and still calls Georgia home. Tran is fascinated with creating work that can be used as a sort of psycho-therapeutic support vehicle, exploring the mind’s surreal dreamscape and subconscious desire. Her delicate work is greatly inspired by the Art Nouveau period and is created with colored pencil, graphite and thin glazes of highly diluted acrylic paint all in a muted palette that perfectly showcases her romanticized subject matter.

Vasko Taškovski was born on 31 August 1937 in the village of Nižopole, Bitola. In 1958 he completed the Secondary Art School in Skopje. He graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 1964.
In the period between 1966 and 1991 he worked as a set designer in the Macedonian Television. Apart from paintings in oil, he also works in watercolours and graphics. Occasionally he makes graphic design, too.
He has had 40 one-man exhibitions, and has taken part in a lot of group exhibitions in the country and abroad

Victor Rodriguez’s Incredible Paintings

Victor Rodriguez was born in Mexico City, 1970, Currently Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He is considered to be the leader of the new generation of hyperrealist artists working internationally today. He has exhibited extensively internationally, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, the Flint Institute of Contemporary Arts, the Museo de Monterrey in Mexico and Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Monterrey MARCO.

International Festival of Sand Sculpture, St. Petersburg

The annual International Festival of Sand Sculpture was held recently in In St. Petersburg. Subject of the festival was “World cinema”. Among the participants were Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Finland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Germany, France and several others.

Some artists have so much of a good taste that it hurts. Visiting a few places I got to find these amazing, beautiful illustrations and papercut works that simply took my breath away.

The best part is that the illustrations among these are so real that I can't tell with certainty which are illustration and which are papercut. Top notch work, for real.
