Painings by MARK PETTIT
An intense childhood interest in drawing and painting gave Mark Pettit
an early start in the pursuit of becoming an artist, but there was
little in his early efforts to suggest that he would attain his current
level of success so early in his career. MARK is based in
Colorado/Texas.

Eric Christensen began painting professionally in 1992. Since that time
he has enjoyed amazing success and a growing reputation as a celebrated
Wine Country Artist. Self-taught, he invented a watercolor technique
that allows him to create images of vibrant color that go beyond the
look and depth of a high quality photograph. Christensen now finds
himself unique in his field. In fact he is the only known artist capable
of hyperrealism through the use of standard watercolor.

Since 2003 member of the Artists’ Union of St. Petersburg. Lives and works in his native St. Petersburg.

Still Life Paintings
Still
life drawings and paintings have a long history, back in time. Maybe
because they seem to be easier to paint than a portrait or something in
movement even.
But still life is also nothing else but a portrait of usually a
life-less scene. Most artists have a muse or a model, a few entities put
together that they reproduce. Others, the more advanced ones, use only
their imagination.
The following showcase proves that still life in traditional art is
not as easy as it seems, if a certain result is desired and details are
to be emphasized, along with shadows and light. 50 images, paintings and
drawings, none enhanced by digital software, just plain and pure
talent. For the sake of good old times of art.

William Bouguereau (French pronunciation: [vijɑ̃ buɡəʁo]) was a traditionalist; in his realistic genre paintings he used mythological themes, making modern interpretations of Classical subjects, with an emphasis on the female human body.

Marco Calcinaro was born in San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy) in 1971, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan in 1993. His work is his painting, exhibited in galleries across Italy, also working as an illustrator for the publishing and advertising.

Konstantin Yegorovich Makovsky (Russian: Константин
Егорович Маковский; June 20 [O.S. July 2] 1839 —September 17 [O.S.
September 30] 1915) was an influential Russian painter, affiliated with
the "Peredvizhniki (Wanderers)". Many of his historical paintings, such
as The Russian Bride's Attire (1889), showed an idealized view of
Russian life of prior centuries. He is often considered a representative
of a Salon art.
